SOCIAL RESPONISIBILITIES

Sabin Raj Memorial:
Calpine’s commitment to promoting computer education at the grass root levels in the education system is reflected at the Sabin Memorial Computer Center at the St. Jude English Medium School, Karimugal. Built in memory of Late Mr. Sabin Raj, an employee at Calpine Solutions, a subsidiary of the Calpine Group of Companies, the computer center is a part of the school facility which was redone to a 600 sq feet area, refurnished with a dozen workstations and computers for the children of this school.

Learning Sessions:
Few employees of Calpine Solutions has formed a group of like minded individuals who are interested in helping out students at certain schools/institutions with subjects that they are finding difficult to learn. They take sessions for students on a bi-weekly basis and help them out with subjects such as Math, Computer Science, English,Hindi etc. This has given a good response from children as well as the teachers from these schools.This initiative just adds on to the various corporate social responsibilities undertaken by Calpine Solutions.

Charity:
Calpine Solutions sponsors meals and other amenities needed for institutions with inmates who are less privileged to enjoy the basic necessities in life. As part of this, we sponsor meals for these inmates and provide school bags and other amenities for the children who are attending schools. Employees here prefer to donate a certain amount on their birthdays to such institutions instead of celebrating their birthdays. This brings out the true spirit of promoting corporate responsibility towards the society.
